Edward Rowson

Chief Executive Officer

Ed is an investment veteran who served for about 15 years as a partner and a senior officer for several funds between the United Kingdom, Sub-Saharan Africa and the GCC. His experience spans across Debt and Equity Funds Set-Up and Management, Private and Capital Markets Deal Structuring, Operations, etc.

Ed launched Lundy Investors in 2018, the Company aims to provide Investment Management and Advisory services across Emerging Markets.

Ed has focused on the Middle East and African Markets for around a decade, having been one of the founding partners of MENA Capital in 2006, which was the first dedicated hedge fund with focus on the MENA region, whilst at MENA and then with IMM Group in Dubai Ed traded and managed various investment strategies, including event driven, arbitrage, alpha generating shorting, portfolio hedging and short term trading. Across MENA Capital and IMM Ed was involved in raising over $250mn in assets from international investors.

Most recently Ed worked for a Commodity Trade Finance Fund in London, acting as COO, with focus on implementing portfolio construction and valuation policies, handling the firm’s NPL policy and was responsible for funding transactions and raising assets for the short-term Trade Finance Fund.

His previous experience includes Trading for Balfour Capital, a Japanese Equity Hedge Fund, before which he worked on the Derivatives desk at Aviva Asset Management (now part of JP Morgan) and Bear Stearns.

Ed has a Master’s in Finance from the London Business School and is a Master Financial Technical Analyst. which

Wael Menhem

Chief Investment Officer

Wael is an Emerging Markets professional with over a decade of experience in Investment Management, Fundamental Research and Investment Banking Advisory.

Wael joined Lundy Investors as a partner in the beginning of 2019 to support with the establishment of the business. Both Ed and Wael co-managed IMM Group’s GCC Active Fund from 2017 till 2019 before joining hands in setting-up Lundy Investors. Wael also served as the Head of Research at IMM Group.

Prior to IMM Group, Wael served as a Vice President of Research at Credit Suisse. He helped in setting-up Credit Suisse’s MENA Research Department as part of the Emerging Europe Middle East and Africa Equity team. Wael was primarily responsible for the MENA non-Financials Research Strategy product and a frequent contributor to Credit Suisse’s EEMEA and EM Research papers. 

Wael also served as a Senior Research Analyst with Bank of America Merrill Lynch for several years. His coverage included MENA Financials for two years before moving to the EEMEA and Frontier team to cover the Consumers, Industrials and Trade sectors. Wael was voted for several years among the top EEMEA Research professionals on Extel Reuters and Institutional Investors surveys.

Wael kicked-off his career in Investment Banking advising on various MENA M&A, Capital Markets and Restructuring mandates.

Wael holds a Bachelor’s in Mathematics from the American University of Beirut.

Khaled abdel majeed

FUNDS DIRECTOR

Khaled has been with Lundy by end of 2022. He is an investment veteran with 30 years of experience in Middle-East and African Markets. Khaled’s experience spans across investment management of Equity Products. Prior to setting-up MENA Capital, the first Hedge Fund on the region with US$500M in AUMs at the peak of the oil cycle 2005-2007, Khaled was the Head of Middle East Asset Management at Arab Bank in Dubai and London, Chief Investment Officer at EFG Hermes Asset Management in Cairo and director of Blakeney Management. Khaled has joined efforts with Al Mal Capital in 2018, a leading MENA investment manager based out of the UAE to expand on their investment management solutions.

WAEL MENHEM

Wael is an Emerging Markets professional with over a decade of experience in Investment Management, Fundamental Research and Investment Banking Advisory.
